Isle of ManI would just like to broaden the issue a bit and ask about a similar situation which exists with the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands. Ich möchte das Thema etwas erweitern und zu einer analogen Situation Fragen stellen, wie sie im Falle der Insel Man und der Kanalinseln besteht. Whereas some of these areas certainly are under the British Crown, there is no doubt whatever that, for example, the Isle of Man is the most Irish of locations. Einige dieser Gebiete unterstehen natürlich der britischen Krone, doch besteht keinerlei Zweifel, daß die Insel Man in höchstem Maße irisch ist. I might say for the sake of completeness that, in addition to Gibraltar, elections to the European Parliament are not held in the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man either. Vollständigkeitshalber kann ich sagen, daß außer Gibraltar auch auf den Inseln des Ärmelkanals und der Insel Man keine Wahlen zum Europäischen Parlament abgehalten werden.
